What Happens in an Intensive Residential Treatment Program?

It is a sad but true fact of life that some young people get into trouble. I suppose you could argue that most kids get into some sort of trouble because that's part of life, of growing up.

But in this article we are talking about serious trouble. We're talking about teens who fall into the drug culture, who carry out acts of violence, who threaten family members and school officials, who run with a gang and commit crimes, who have very poor social skills, a perverted attitude towards matters sexual, who run away and even those who give up on school and have no interest in any academic study.
These young people are often a danger to themselves and to others. Their behavior is extreme and requires an extreme remedy.

The treatment they receive concentrates on two key words viz.

, residential and intensive.
Residential means that the teen resides in the facility.
These places are secure units and it is extremely rare for any young person to leave without permission.

The venues are as close to escape proof as can be.

The second word, 'intensive', refers to the level of treatment provided.
There are psychologists and psychiatrists, medical staff including doctors and nurses as well as teachers and administrative staff. All these staff members are trained specially to deal with violent, dangerous and desperate young people.

The program for the residents is full on. They are taught, counseled, tested, monitored and assessed on a constant basis. Staff members are on duty around the clock and every effort is made to plan a forward progression for each resident.

The kids are not there for a holiday but to have their life changed for the good in a big and dramatic way. Because the problems can be so profound, it is always difficult to determine how long each teen will remain in residence.
Some problems are so serious it may take many months to affect a lifestyle change.

All that means the cost will be significant.
With both full board and an array of professionals all working to help each teen, the expense is considerable.
Having an insurance policy which covers the treatment costs is a darn good idea.

The program is known as IRTP which stands for Intensive Residential Treatment Program and sadly is much in demand. Whether it's the breakdown of the family unit, the availability of drugs or any one of another series of society's ills, more and more young kids are in need of an IRTP.

The alternative doesn't bear thinking about.

Self-harm, a wasted life and even suicide is tragically the by-product of some of our troubled teens.
But not only are the teens given the best help possible, their families too are helped.

There is constant communication with the parents with opportunities for family members to learn certain skills for when the troubled teen returns home.
There is no quick fix to many problems and a lot of time, money and blood, sweat and tears are required to change the lives of these kids.

Dinosaur Coloring Pages and Activities - Raah!

Kids love dinosaurs and kids love crayons, pencils and painting. So coloring dinosaur pictures makes a great activity for toddlers, preschoolers and older kids.
There are lots of free dino coloring pages available on the web, but the quality varies considerably.

If you know where to look, you can get straight to coloring a T-Rex or a Pteranodon without spending lots of time searching. There are educational dinosaur coloring pages to learn dinosaur facts or learn the alphabet.

What color do you think a Triceratops was? What about Parasaurolophus? Paleontologists are still learning what color dinosaurs really were so you can make them whatever color you like! There are pages based on TV shows and movies like the very popular Dinosaur Train, Diego, Ice Age 3, Land Before Time and Dinosaur King.
Do you want to color Buddy and Tiny? What about Diego and Maia the Maiasaura. And don't forget Littlefoot.

Our favorites are a special collection of free dinosaur coloring pages by Paul Stickland, author of the great toddler book Dinosaur Roar! These dinosaurs are full of character and a big hit in our house. For young digital artists, online dino paint programs where you can paint prehistoric scenes are fantastic fun. Create a picture from the Jurassic era! This is a great activity for kids. You can also get dino coloring books and activities to buy - these make great birthday or Christmas gifts or treats on a rainy day.
You can get a dinosaur T-shirt with washable markers than you can create your own design with over and over.
Prehistoric posters colored by your child are also good fun.

There's even a great dinosaur puzzle to color - our kids love puzzles and coloring so this is a great idea.

Guidelines In Wisely Buying Used Phone Systems

Considering a tight budget for a current business, people usually resort to money-saving strategies where they could cut down their expenditures.
Some strategies could be a lesser workforce, lesser office equipment and materials, or lesser pay.

Used phone systems, for an instance, could also be one of the numerous options, especially if their business operations don't really require them to buy new units.
There are some slightly-used phones that costs cheaper but still functioning superbly.
However, in choosing such, make sure to cautiously scrutinize the unit you are buying to ascertain that you are still getting a reasonable value for your money.

Also, try to understand all the basic information you need to check out in a phone system beforehand.

There are many sources where you could look for used phone systems.
A great potential media is the "internet" or the "world wide web".

However when browsing sites selling such, do not just rely on the picture of the unit being sold.
Make sure to also carefully read the description of the product.
Furthermore, call the seller. It is the best thing to do.
Inquire why are they selling the unit and how long have they used it.
After this, do a background check on the phone model you have chosen.

Its corresponding accessories must come with the package being sold at no additional charge.
In case there are some accessories that are missing, this is your chance to bargain with the given price of the phone. However, if it doesn't really have any accessories at all, think well.

The phone system might be illegally obtained and distributed. You may opt not to get it. It is always better to be in the safe side.
However, if you are wanting to have more secure options and a good deal, purchase used phone systems from reputable telecommunication system package dealers or stores. They always give a complete package - the manual, warranty and other pertinent papers, and most of all, all the original accessories.

You could also inquire from them the actual condition of the phone since, for sure, they have done an initial assessment of it already.
Exploring cheaper alternatives in buying your business equipment like phone systems is not that bad. Just make sure that you are really getting the best value for your investment by checking out every detail of the phone system before paying for it.

For a better and more secure option, buy from a reputable store or shop.

Fun Kid Fall Activity Ideas Using Apples

Fall is the season for apples.

Fun kid fall activity ideas include apple arts and crafts, games, and yummy cooking projects.

September 26 is Johnny Appleseed's birthday, so plan a party with apples as the theme.
Make a pretty apple garland with dried apple slices. Slice apples into 1/8" thick across the core.
Soak in lemon juice and salt (1 ½ tablespoon salt per 1 cup of lemon juice) for 20 minutes. The lemon juice and salt preserves the apple slices and keeps them from turning brown.

Pat the slices dry and lay on a baking pan.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and ground cloves, and bake at 150 degrees for about 6 hours or until they look and feel leathery. Have kids gather pretty fall leaves to add to the fall garland. Make a small hole through the center of the apple slices and leaves.
Cut fall ribbon or fabric into 1" x 6" pieces.
You will need lots of apple slices, leaves, and ribbon pieces for a long garland.
To string the garland, thread an apple slice and several leaves onto jute string, and tie a ribbon bow onto the string.
Repeat this pattern until the garland is the desired length.

Tie autumn colored ribbon on each end to secure. Kids can take turns working on this fall craft activity until it is long enough to hang in the classroom or at home.
Kid friendly cooking recipes include making caramel apples slices and homemade applesauce.
Melt about 25 caramel pieces with one tablespoon of water over low-heat. Core apples and slice to about 1" thick. Toss slices in melted caramel and roll in chopped peanuts. Cool the caramel apple slices on wax paper.
Homemade applesauce cooking smells wonderful. Peel, core and quarter 4 medium apples and place in pot.
Add one cup of water to apples and bring to a boil.
Turn to simmer and cook for 5 to 10 minutes or until apples are tender. Add ½ cup brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1 tablespoon of butter and heat thoroughly.

Mash the apples with a potato masher and cool.

Play apple games such as the popular bobbing for apples in a large bucket of water, or try biting into an apple tied to a string. How about having a relay race by pushing an apple to the finish line with your nose? Don't forget there is always the Apple for the Teacher!

IP Cameras, NVRs, and Remote Access

IP cameras and NVRs are becoming quite popular at a rapid rate, and because of the fact that they are directly networked pieces of equipment it is a good idea to know how remote access works and how to keep it secure from interlopers. So read on as we go over installation ideas and security tips to help secure and safeguard your IP surveillance system.
Secure Your Network Before you even install your IP surveillance system, you will want to make sure that your network is secured.
Depending on the sophistication of your network this may be rather involved; however if you are a basic home or small business user this will mainly mean to secure your router.
We won't go over this in detail as it is different on many routers, but the main thing you will want to make sure of is that you have a good username and decently complicated password to prevent unwanted access.

If you can't figure out how to secure your router I would suggest finding a surveillance installer or IT professional to help you with it and the rest of your IP surveillance installation.

The network securing step is the easiest of steps and if you have trouble with that then you will want some help.

Connection Method When connecting your IP cameras you can either directly connect them to your NVR or you can have them connected to the router and then have them detected by the NVR.
There are ups and downs to each of these scenarios and it will depend on your application as to which way you go. We will discuss both of these connection methods and how to keep them secure. Connect Directly To Your NVR If you are connecting your IP cameras directly to your NVR and then having the NVR connect to your network, the process is somewhat simpler.
In this scenario you would effectively be making your IP cameras their own separate network that use the NVR as a intermediary that would connect them to your main network.
This provides for a much more secure way of doing things as it would allow for only one access point to which your cameras could be viewed remotely.

In this scenario you would only need to secure your NVR with an appropriate password and username to keep away wandering eyes.

Additionally on the networking side of things you would only need to assign a single IP address and port to your NVR for remote access.
When it comes to installing this type of surveillance configuration you will need to determine if your NVR is capable of connecting all your IP cameras directly. If your NVR is capable, you will need to secure its username and password as well as its own internal IP address and port forwarding.

To setup remote access you will need to access your router where the IP address is stored, and then you will configure your port forwarding to that IP address for remote viewing.
If any of these terms are unfamiliar to you it is a wise choice at this point to consult with a surveillance or IT professional.

Connecting Directly To Your Network If you decide to directly connect your IP cameras to your network because of an inability to connect directly to your NVR for whatever reason, then things will be a bit trickier to setup and you will want to take note.

The biggest time consuming effort beyond installation will be the networking side of things. Since each camera will be directly assigned to your network they will each need their own individual IP address and a port forwarded to each of them.
This can be quite a pain and will take a knowledgeable and patient hand to help set it up.

Additionally you will need to give your NVR its own IP address and port as well.

When this is all setup you will have the ability to access all your IP cameras individually or on the NVR remotely.

This of course will require that you retain all the various ports for each device. The biggest downside to this approach will be the security side of things.
In this type of configuration each IP camera as well as the NVR will have to have a username and password assigned to it.
Whether you use the same ID and password for each will be up to you, but it is imperative that you go through and assign each one a new password and ID and DO NOT use the default information.

Username & Password Tips When creating your ID and passwords for your IP surveillance equipment there is a quick checklist that I would suggest adhering to help keep them secure. 1.

Make your password at least 8 characters long 2. Use number, letters, and symbols (if possible) in combination for a stronger password 3.

Avoid repetitive passwords and simplistic words 4.
Make your password somewhat distant from anything that relates to you specifically 5.
NEVER use the default password and username assigned to your equipment In the end an IP surveillance system can be a bit of a chore to setup, but its benefits of quick remote access, HD resolutions, and so much more make it quite a worthwhile effort.

Youths Suffer In Silence

Have you ever felt like you have peed in your pants from excessive sweating?  No matter what time of year-winter, spring, summer or all-or what type of clothes you are wearing your underwear and socks are stuck to your skin due to sweating.
Taking multiple showers in a day fails to cure the problem.
As a youth have you noticed that anti-deodorants fail to cover the problem.

You attend parties with your friends and you talk about girls and boys and dating.
At this time you decide to ask about your excessive sweating.

You learn to your embarrassment you are the only one with this problem.
At that time you continue to hide your problem with anything that will cover it up.  Finally it can't be hidden anymore, so you finally breakdown and ask your dad or mom.

Why do I sweat so much?  They fail to take your question seriously and come up with the famous line "you will out go it." The youth will out grow his clothes and shoes, but not this condition.
Some youth grow up with the knowledge of excessive sweating, because one of the parents or family remember suffers with the problem.
The parents understand the pain of the problem because they grew up with the problem.
Their parents did not understand the problem so they had to live with it.
That does not mean they know how to deal with it adequately, however. Today's youth have many hurdles to cross, but excessive sweating should not be one of them.
Sweating will affect youth for the rest of their lives if not corrected.

It will affect their lives in school with their social life, dating, playing sports, playing instruments in band or orchestra, or using computers or other technical equipment.
This problem can lead to depression, social isolation, and maybe even suicide. Excessive sweating is the last thing we as parents and coaches want our youth to be worrying about when they should be striving to be creative in mind and body.  There are many solutions to the problem and a parent wants to assist his youth with finding the one that would work best with their family situation.
Traditional Chinese medicine is considered a cut above many contemporary and alternative therapies for treatment of hyperhydrosis.
This form of healing dates back 8000 years. Traditional Chinese medicine stimulates the points in the body related to excessive sweating.

This type of treatment there is no recovery time.
There are other types of treatments available including home based treatments like facial scrubs which can be applied to the body parts extreme sweating occurs.

Lemon juice helps element the odor produced by sweating.
Extreme sweating different herbs like birch, basil, cedar, and bergamot help reduce sweating.

There is a surgery known as endoscopic thoracic smpathectomy  (STS).

In this process "Sympathetic nerve trunk" is destroyed or removed.
This is major surgery and is irreversible.  There is risk of permanent damage.
If all other treatments for excessive sweating should fail surgery could be considered.

Really at this point patients are not concerned about possible side effect.

  They want the problem fixed.
Get a kid out of the shadows and into the sun without constant excessive sweating.
There is additional information available at www.

itshrunk.

com/sweats I sincerely hope you'll jump at the chance to eliminate excessive sweating.
The doctors and pharmacists don't want you to have this information.

Why, they would rather sell you expensive drugs and recommend expensive surgeries.  You can be rid of your excessive sweating without is costing you an arm or leg.

What is the Greatest Entertainment For Children?

After finishing the exams the kids usually prefer a unique enjoyment in their holidays.

They need a change, and can amuse themselves by playing toys.

This also helps the parents, as the kids will normally engage themselves in doing mischievous things at home.

This will be very tedious for them and they will be tempted to scold or beat the children.

If the kids are given toys to play with then both the sides will be happy to have a change.

Holiday toys for kids are readily available in the market so that the kids can play safely inside the home.

But both indoor and outdoor play games are available in the market for the children to have good fun. Are playing with toys educative? Of course this is very true.
It is not only educative, it also helps the kids to develop the knowledge, helps in creativity, develops the vital skills of the children, helps in having social bonds, apart from amusing them. You can also gift toys to other children.
The shops are nowadays arranging the toys as per the requirement. One can buy toys according to his taste, budget and also based on the usefulness of the toys.

But the toys purchased should be of good quality because sometimes the children aged between 2 to 5 have a tendency to taste everything they acquire. If the quality of the toy is poor it may prove harmful and sometimes lead to death.
Small particles which are removable from the toys should not be given to these kids of this age as they will swallow it.
The chemicals used to give colors etc, can be harmful.

So the parents must be very careful in choosing and they should buy the toys according to the age of the child.
Moreover they should keep an eye on the children, so that they do not swallow or keep the toys in the mouth.
Some companies sell toys for various games, and even there are play centers, where the children can play boardroom games, and playroom games, which will be a feast.

Parents can tell their kids a good story with the help of toys, and can help their children to spend their time effectively in the holidays.

They can learn about their gods, their leaders who had fought for their country etc.

so the time spent by the children in their holidays will turn useful in all ways.
